Davido, a Nigerian rapper, has introduced the Echoke Social Token, a fan token that he claims gives his millions of fans “power.”
Davido, a Nigerian pop musician and personality, recently announced the debut of his fan token, the Echoke Social Token, on Instagram.
According to Davido’s Instagram post, this token not only eliminates the need for third parties, but also allows him to communicate directly with followers. Davido elaborated:
Happy to finally announce this thing we’ve been working on for a while. It’s the ‘Echoke Social Token’. Everyday, millions of fans create value that is captured by a few execs in a boardroom. Not any more. We’re giving the power back to the fans.
Holders of the token will also get free access to giveaways, NFTs, backstage passes, employment, festivals, special items, media, and hospitality privileges, according to him.
Davido, who previously stated his ambition to build a bitcoin trading firm, has disclosed that he has teamed with Bitsika Africa’s new crypto startup, Omegoat, for the introduction of this token.
Meanwhile, according to Cryptoplustv, the Echoke Social Token will not be sold to fans, but will instead be airdropped or given away to followers over a twelve-month period. According to the same article, the first of these giveaways would take place on November 28.
