QAnon “Founder” Ron Watkins was recently banned from Twitter, but has now started selling Ethereum NFT to fund a secret project as we read more about it in the latest Ethereum news.

The alleged “founder” of Qanon Ron Watkins sells NFT screenshots from his blocked Twitter account and the first NFT is sold on the OpenSea marketplace. Watkins is believed to be the central force behind right-wing conspiracy theory group QAnon, which has announced a number of ETH-based NFTs being auctioned to fund a secret project he believes will save America. CodeMonkeyZ Freedom Series is a collection of screenshots of tweets from his banned Twitter account and he also announced the project to his Telegram group, which has over 425,000 subscribers.

The first NFT line in the Freedom series features a tweet sent on January 3rdapprox about an upcoming attack on US capitals in January that is currently being auctioned off on the NFT marketplace OpenSea. As of this writing, the highest bid is 0.21 ETH, or around $ 640, so the auction will run until October 7th. The NFT acts as a title deed for an item, an image file or a screenshot of a tweet that is no longer available because its account is locked. Other public figures who have sold notable tweets like the NFT in the past, like Jack Dorsey, who sold his first tweet for $ 2.9 million in March.

Qanon is a conspiracy theory from 2017 and focuses on “satan-worshiping pedophiles” who hold positions of power, as researcher Travis View explains. Believers see it as a campaign against Donald Trump, who is considered the savior of the supporters.

Watkins is a former administrator of the 8kun- or 8chan forum, which is where conspiracy theories like QAnon thrive. He then resigned ahead of the 2020 US election and appeared in the media. Watkins was banned from Twitter following this year’s riot due to Twitter’s coordinated malicious activity policy.

He denied playing the role of QAnon but hinted that he would repeat the role during an interview with the HBO documentary Cullen Hoback. Warkins fans have yet to get excited about this NFT as some don’t understand what an NFT is and why someone would sell screenshots of the tweets.
