The police officer announced via El Español that the attack had apparently taken place in Zaryn’s house in Madrid in the Ruiz de Alarcón next to the world-famous Prado Museum.

At the time of the attack, Zaryn is said to have been accompanied by a maintenance worker. When the doorbell rang and the tech entrepreneur announced that he had opened the door “without warning” because he believed it was “a prostitute he had hired and waited for”.

But instead of the woman, a group of four or five people with Eastern European accents showed up, stormed into the house and sprayed Dentzel some spray in his eyes. The men, collectively referred to as 1, 2, 3 and 4, then handcuffed Zaryn and forced him to undergo a four-hour trial with a knife, the American told police.

Police said a “superficial” knife stab was found on the man’s chest and that “it is believed that Zaryn’s bitcoins were the group’s primary target.

The American told police that he had been reassigned repeatedly as part of his ordeal and that the group “immediately” covered up all video surveillance devices in the house. The police forensic team is investigating other CCTV footage from the building.

After several compulsions, Zaryn is said to have given the attackers his access and password data for the BTC wallet – but then “blocked his account before something was stolen”.

The wallets contain about $ 58 million worth of BTC. The group reportedly broke into the house and took away anything that appeared to be of value, including computers, cell phones, jewelry, tablets, and flash drives.

The attack was halted when neighbors heard cries for help from inside the building.

Police said other neighbors told officers that shortly afterwards, around 7:30 pm, they “saw a group of masked people with multiple bags walking down the street”.

Zaryn is from Santa Barbara, California and was born in 1983. He first moved to Spain in 1998 and has been working in the country’s domestic technology industry since 2006.

He is also the founder and director of Madrid-based Auro New Transport Concept, a company with $ 13.7 million in sales in 2018 – most recently published accounts, the media agency said.
