RippleNet continues to grow, according to Sendi Young, MD of RippleNet Europe, as cross-border payments enabled by XRP and Modulr arrive in the UK and Europe. Remessa Online, a Brazilian fintech startup, has chosen Modulr to speed cross-border payments across the United Kingdom and Europe.
Modulr also just launched its real-time Euro payments service, which is based on the real-time pan-European SEPA Instant mechanism and provides significant competitive benefits to European businesses.
XRP, a blockchain and cryptocurrency company, partnered with British firm Modulr in February to enable “seamless” payments into the United Kingdom and Europe from anywhere in the world.
Despite the current SEC litigation, Sendi Young told CNBC’s Squawk Box that the company’s recent 18 months had been the best in its history.
Updates on the SEC complaint against Ripple
Judge Torres refused the SEC’s desire to seal the entire responses to the amius request to participate in the Daubert challenge, giving XRP a modest advantage in the ongoing battle.
The XRP defendants have now responded to the amicus curiae request to join the Daubert challenge.
Ripple has written a letter requesting that its whole response be made public, despite the fact that it is currently under seal. The SEC and defendants’ records will be kept secret until District Judge Torres decides what should and shouldn’t be made public.
In May, CryptoLaw founder John Deaton asked the court to file an amicus brief in a Daubert dispute involving the view of expert SEC witness Patrick Doody, who claimed to know what drove XRP investors to buy the cryptocurrency.
In another development, the SEC has filed a letter with the court seeking that a portion of Exhibit A to the Ripple defendants’ newest filing challenging the inadequacy of the SEC’s replies to the Fourth Set of Requests for Admission, to which Ripple has not objected, be sealed.
