Balenciaga, a French high-fashion brand, will accept Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) payments at select stores in the United States, including its branches at Madison Avenue New York and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, as well as the online store www.balenciaga.com
Balenciaga Accept Crypto Payments
The decision comes as more fashion brands continue to enter the crypto space such as Gucci and TAG Heuer, among others that have delved deeper into the crypto industry, as demand grows of this digital asset class has increased over the years.
While most brands accept more than five crypto assets as payment options, they said they will begin their crypto journey with the two largest cryptocurrencies on the market is BTC and ETH.
Expanded list of supported cryptocurrencies
The company revealed that it will include its stores in other regions in the near future following customer response to the initiative.
When Balenciaga chooses a payment provider like BitPay, the list of supported cryptocurrencies can expand to include multiple digital currencies, including Shiba Inu (SHIB), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Cardano (ADA) in the future.
This brand also shared that they are not shy about market volatility and that they are “thinking long-term about crypto”.
