Joe Rogan says the government is ‘freaking out’ about Bitcoin

In the latest episode of his famous podcast, host Joe Rogan said he thought of Bitcoin the same way as he did the early Internet. Rogan explained that BTC is something the “government didn’t see coming”. He also shared that he sees digital currency as a viable currency.

“I think about Bitcoin the same way I did in the early days of the internet. The government did not see it coming and now it is a viable form of a currency. You can really buy things with it.” So he told.

Talking to a mixed martial arts fighter named Khalil Rountree, Rogan also voiced concerns that the government was trying to curb and control crypto in the same way that he claims it tried to censor the internet during the Obama administration. According to him, this attempt had fallen apart because of the public uproar.

Rogan explained that there would be a time when some governments will implement a centralized currency that they can control, with the intention to limit what you spend your money on. Bitcoin is outside of government control, as it is a decentralized and permissionless payment network.

Just like what Joe Rogan said, China’s central bank is now testing its central bank digital currency (CBDC), also known as e-CNY. In other news, the city of Fort Worth, Texas, acknowledged the potential of mining for its community by voting to accept a donation of three Bitcoin mining machines from the industry advocacy group Texas Blockchain Council.

Joe Rogan is an outspoken supporter of Bitcoin. In 2014, he made the first mention of the world’s largest cryptocurrency. In 2016, Rogan stated that he was a huge admirer of Bitcoin. The cost was still less than $1,000 at the time.

His podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, has over 11 million listens to every episode and is the most popular podcast show on Spotify. Anthony Pompliano claims that his performance is more popular than Fox News and CNN combined.

In the last episode, Joe Rogan spoke to an MMA fighter named Khalil Rountree. Khalil says in the podcast that he is not a tech or financial man but that he is very enthusiastic about Bitcoin and the technology behind digital currency.
