Delivery App Rappi Mexico Is Now Accepted SHIB Through Bitso
Bitso, a cryptocurrency exchange based in Mexico, has announced that users of Rappi Mexico, a delivery company, will soon be able to pay using cryptocurrencies, including Shiba Inu.
“shibainuart,” a Twitter user dedicated to the SHIB community, responded to the news: “Such excellent news! “Without a doubt, the initiative will result in higher adoption of $SHIB.” After teasing its launch in late December, Bitso, Mexico’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, said in January that Shiba Inu (SHIB) was now available on its platform.
Rappi, a Colombian delivery app that offers on-demand delivery of food and other commodities throughout Latin America, has announced the launch of a crypto payment pilot program in Mexico.
To launch the new service, Rappi has worked with cryptocurrency providers Bitpay and Bitso. Users will be able to convert cryptocurrency into credits and use them to make purchases within the app. Rappi has operations in nine Latin American countries and provides financial services in Mexico, Brazil, Peru, and Chile, with plans to start digital banking in Colombia this year.
SlingTV, American Cancer Society, Newegg, Menufy, Carolina Hurricanes, and Twitch are among the industry giants that currently take SHIB via BitPay.
BitPay officially began accepting the Shiba Inu coin in late 2021, allowing SHIB to be used at hundreds of BitPay shops that accept Shiba Inu. BitPay also accepts Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), DogeCoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), and USD-pegged stablecoins (BUSD, DAI, GUSD, USDC and USDP).
Shiba Inu was one of the biggest gainers on Tuesday’s crypto markets after Robinhood added the meme coin to its list of crypto options. At the time of writing, SHIB was trading at $0.000026.
