Space Runners Has Raised $10 Million to Build First Fashion Metaverse

Space Runners has gained $10 million fundraising

Space Runners has teamed up with artists and companies to create fashion items that can be utilized in metaverses and blockchain games as NFTs. ‘Spaceverse,’ created by Space Runners, is the first blockchain-based fashion metaverse and end-to-end fashion ecosystem.

Pantera Capital and Polychain Capital led a $10 million fundraising round for the fashion metaverse, with participation from Jump Crypto, Accel, Animoca Brands chairman Yat Siu, and Twitch co-founder Justin Kan.

“Pantera is proud to support Space Runner’s vision to pave a new way to interact with fashion on the blockchain. Digital identity and self-expression will be a key component in the metaverse. Fashion will be just as if, if not more, important in the Metaverse than the real world,” said Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Investor at Pantera Capital.

Space Runners was founded in March 2021 with the goal of helping brands and celebrities in creating NFTs that can be used across a variety of virtual environments, including metaverse platforms, video games, and social media. In December 2021, the company launched its first collection with NBA stars Kyle Kumza and Nick Young, selling 10,000 NBA Champions Sneaker Collection NFTs in nine minutes, generating $8 million in revenue.

Space Runners plans to utilize the fund – which increases the company’s total capital to $30 million – to expand SPACEverse, a “fashion metaverse incorporating a wear2earn economy.” Users will be able to “showcase fashionable NFTs, join events, interact, and play games with other users” on the SPACEverse platform, which the company describes as “the first fashion metaverse that brings community, brands and celebrities together.”

“Our goal is to build the first end-to-end fashion ecosystem on the blockchain,” said Won Soh, co-founder of Space Runners.
