Ukraine Accepts Donations In Meme Coins As Dogecoin Exceeded Russian Ruble In Value.

Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, has announced that the country would begin accepting donations in meme coins. The Russian ruble has fallen in value one again, this time to the famous Dogecoin.

The Ukrainian government has stated that it is now taking cryptocurrency donations in meme coins, in addition to Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, and Polkadot.

Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, broke the news first on Twitter, saying:

“@dogecoin exceeded Russian ruble in value. We start to accept donations in meme coin. Now even meme can support our army and save lives from Russian invaders.”

The announcement was met with a stream of supportive comments from the meme coin community in general, as well as the Dogecoin community.

Many individuals have claimed that they have already contributed their Dogecoin to help fight Russia’s invasion.

Slowmist, a data aggregator, reports that the community has given more than $50 million in cryptocurrency to Ukraine in the few days after the Ukrainian government began accepting crypto donations.

Following the Russian Ruble’s dramatic collapse to lows not seen in over 3 decades, Bitcoin managed to surpass the Russian Ruble in the global list of currencies with the biggest capitalisation. It is now the Dogecoin’s turn.
