BREAKING: Russian President Putin Announces a “Special Military Operation” in Ukraine, Bitcoin’s Price has Plummeted Rapidly to $34,700

According to CNN’s Nathan Hodge in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin says his troops will take action in the separatist-held region of Ukraine he declared independent this week.

Putin has stated that Russia will conduct a military operation in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine to defend separatists.

“I have made the decision of a military operation,” he said in a surprise statement on television shortly before 6 am (03:00 GMT).

Putin stated that the action was taken in response to threats from Ukraine. He went on to say that Russia has no intention of occupying Ukraine. Putin claimed that the Ukrainian “regime” is to blame for the bloodshed.

Any attempt by other countries to interfere with Russia’s actions would result in “consequences they have never seen,” Putin warned.

Bitcoin dropped dramatically after Russia’s announcement

As a result of bitcoin holders’ fear following President Putin’s announcement, the price of Bitcoin dropped rapidly to $34,700, and it will continue dropping. Crypto investors now tend to keep USDT in their wallets to wait patiently for the result of each Russia-Ukraine battleground decision.

Before that, many financial experts have predicted that if the current situation continues, Bitcoin price will fall below $30,000. And perhaps in a few days, this prediction will come true.

The US has previously warned that if Russia invades Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin will face “significant consequences.” Secretary of State Antony Blinken believes Russia will invade Ukraine in a matter of hours, and that “everything seems to be in place for Russia to engage in a major aggression against Ukraine.”

Tonight we’re seeing the Russians close airspace, move troops into Donbas, and move forces into combat-ready positions,” US envoy to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said.

Satellite imagery taken on Wednesday revealed new deployments in western Russia, many of which were within 16 kilometers of the Ukrainian border and less than 80 kilometers of Kharkiv, Ukraine.
