Opera Announced Its Unique Web3 Browser Beta

The beta version of Opera’s “Crypto Browser Project,” an internet browser with built-in Web 3 integrations, was released on January 18.

Users don’t need to log in to every wallet to use when they are in this Web3 browser due to its convenient switch-apps feature. Besides, the latest updated version has a native ad & tracker blocker, which contributes to its security.

The ultimate purpose of this project is to make Web3 more familiar with publicity. Jorgen Arnesen, EVP Mobile at Opera, stated: “Opera’s Crypto Browser Project promises a simpler, faster, more private Web3 experience for users. It simplifies Web3 user experience that is often bewildering for mainstream users. Opera believes Web3 has to be easy to use for the decentralized web to reach its full potential.”

While the wallet in this browser is only compatible with Ethereum, the firm aims to add Polygon and Solana compatibility. They said that they would have a “major Layer 2 announcement” in February.

“We actually believe that browsers will be more important in Web 3 than they were in Web 2. We’ve been around the block for 25 years and around Web 3 since 2018. A multi-chain token strategy will be essential to a good user experience,” Jorgen Arnesen, Vice President of Web 3 at Opera, told in an interview.

This technology firm will also collaborate with Telegram and Twitter to build a “Crypto Corner,” which is a crypto news hub.
