Ethereum whales are massively accumulating this metaverse coin – and it’s not AXS, MANA, or SAND

As the metaverse goes mainstream in the marketplace, crypto whales are devouring a less-publicized gaming project.

According to WhaleStats, Gala Games (GALA) accounts for nearly 1% of the total holdings of the top 1,000 Ethereum (ETH) whale wallets, around $ 519.5 million.

For comparison: The popular game platforms Axie Infinity (AXS), Decentraland (MANA) and The Sandbox (SAND) take up a smaller share.

MANA accounted for 0.29% of the whale pouch valued at $ 171.9 million. SAND was 0.24% valued at $ 141.4 million.

WhaleStats currently has no AXS data, despite a new tweet to speak that it is the third most popular search term on the website. Additionally, some low-cap tokens are mentioned in the image below.

At the time of writing, GALA is down nearly 7% to $ 0.45. Like most other cryptocurrencies in the market, it has been going through a rough patch in the past few weeks after hitting a monthly high of $ 0.74 in November.
