In the final edition of the Decentral Eyes Portrait series, hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg launched his first non-fungible token (NFT) cooperation with artist Ryan Colditz (Coldie).
The NFT “Decentralized Dogg” was released on SuperRare on November 29 at 7:15 p.m. UTC and will be auctioned off until December 3. SuperRare is a digital NFT marketplace for purchasers who are prepared to pay a higher price for more unique coins.
The NFT is a stereoscopic 3D collage featuring ten distinct images of Snoop Dogg at various phases of his life, emphasized by Snoop’s NFT-inspired music. At the time of writing, the highest offer was 169 Ether, which is around $760,000 in today’s dollars.
Snoop said he’d be “totally open to future collaborations with Coldie or other great NFT artists” based on NFT’s performance. Snoop’s management contacted Coldie directly to cooperate on an NFT through SuperRare, according to Coldie.
Adler also stated that Snoop intended to maintain a contact with the Collector or the DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) that would eventually buy the NFT. He added:
For us, what’s interesting in the current climate is that we plan to continue to evolve this coin. Like maybe we could use this piece for other work that we’re doing, whether it’s the cover of a future album or a book,
Snoop Dogg stated in a recent interview with NFT,
You don’t just see it, you feel it and you hear it. Are you digging? I want this piece to stand out as a representation of my vision in the metaverse. They are decentralized, decentralized eyes.
On December 3, the artwork will be on exhibit at SuperRare‘s nftnow x Christie’s show ‘The Gateway’ during Miami Art Week. She’ll also be at the Flagler Street Art Festival on Monolith during Art Week in downtown Miami from November 30 to December 5.
Snoop announced on September 21 that he had adopted a pseudonym to hide in plain sight of NFT Twitter influencer “Cozomo de ‘Medici.” The account’s wallet has built an NFT collection worth over $ 17 million, including nine CryptoPunks and a handful of marijuana-themed tokens.
Coldie’s NFT collaboration with John Van Hamersveld’s “The Unfolding Dream,” in conjunction with Async, is also up for sale until December 10th. He told UKTN that he is considering collaborating with fellow digital artist Sarah Zucker in the future months.
