On July 1, the National Basketball Association (NBA) Portland Trail Blazers announced that the country’s professional basketball team is partnering with crypto cashback company Stormx.

The NBA’s Trail Blazers announced this week that the basketball team has reached an agreement with blockchain company Stormx, a cryptocurrency provider that also has a built-in token called STMX. The Trail Blazers and the NBA’s own publication hosted on nba.com claim that the deal between Stormx and the team is an “unprecedented partnership”.

In essence, Stormx will be the first international rights partner for the Portland team, which aims to “inspire fans around the world.”

Stormx will have the right to conduct marketing and other forms of activities as determined by the team internationally.

According to the announcement, the Stormx logo in particular will be included in the team uniform. Chris McGowan, President and CEO of the Portland Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter, said he was excited to see team sports “an innovative, revolutionary company right in front of our jerseys.”

“Stormx is a fresh, energetic company with roots in the Pacific Northwest that can educate and promote Rip City about crypto and crypto profits,” added McGowan. “I look forward to taking these next steps together as a partner.”
