The founders of DeFi Key are in the game in the hope of getting Flappy B back for money

A new play-for-money (P2E) blockchain game set to mimic the addicting hit of the 2013 mobile phenomenon Flappy Bird has the endorsement of some of DeFi’s biggest names.

Kain Warwick from Synthetix, Stani Kulechov from Aave, Tyler Ward from Barnbridge, angel investor Santiago Santos (formerly ParaFi Capital) and 0xmaki from Sushi joined the seed round for the upcoming tournament before this week. Unusual birds will be out in about a month.

Fancy Birds is a single player mobile game with 8,888 randomly generated NFT characters that were originally created with customization functions and fight their way through levels for the status of the “magic bird”, the most mysterious in the nest.

Successful players who earn 40% of the supply and upgrade the Fancy Token (FNC) will see the game start in multiplayer mode with breeding, staking and tournaments planned. The team is discussing launching it in the Ethereum NFT Layer 2 scaling project Immutable X.

As with a number of other potential big meme projects, Fancy Birds didn’t appear on Twitter a few weeks ago after Illuvium founder Kieran Warwick asked himself on Twitter, “How can someone not do one? Play for Flappy Bird?” He told Cointelegraph:

“It’s not complicated, it’s just super addicting and a lot of fun, with a peak of 100 million daily users. Turns out someone is actually building it and it is currently in beta. “

Warwick joined as a consultant and initially helped organize the seed, and the team is now turning to Framework Ventures, Delphi Digital and a16z for the next round.

The snowball project is reminiscent of Barnbridge founder and Flappy Bird investor Tyler Ward’s Non Fungible Pepe project, which some recalled earlier this year and which raised millions in the weeks leading up to its conversion.

Warwick’s own project Illuvium is another upcoming blockchain P2E game that is growing exponentially. The price of the ILV token has risen from $ 33 in June to currently $ 800, it has a market capitalization of half a billion dollars and 200,000 Discord members.

Warwick also advises them on setting up community governance based on the Illuvium and Synthetix models.

The founders of DeFi are back in the game to make money in hopes of being the next Flappy Bird 3

“The team has really absorbed, they are initially going to be fully decentralized with a DAO and a board of directors, with 100% of the profits (established platform fees) going back to the distributors,” he said.

“We tweaked the code to make it a lot more meaningful, so I think they’re ready to be really big players.”

Illuvium is the official partner and fans can use an 8-bit version of this game’s protagonist Rhamphyre to play in Fancy Birds.

Fancy Birds hopes to attract huge P2E communities in countries like the Philippines. “It accesses the same as Axie Infinity and is mobile so everyone can play,” said Warwick.

Meanwhile, Warwick says the Illuvium team is preparing to release the first trailer that shows the world exactly how the game works.

“Of course we built a lot of hype, we have almost 200,000 people on Discord right now, and things are going really well. But one thing we didn’t show is our gameplay trailer, ”he said.

“There will be a lot of people waiting on the sidelines and that will help us get them to cross the line and say, ‘This is real. This is actually happening. It’s a game of three A’s. “
