Google has partnered with Bakkt to expand their crypto payment options through Google Cloud, so users can now add their Bakkt Visa Debit Card directly to Google Play. So read on to find out more about our latest crypto news.
Google has partnered with Bakkt, the digital asset marketplace, to expand the usability of cryptocurrencies. This comes after Bakkt launched its Visa debit card earlier this year, and customers can now transact digital assets anywhere that Google Pay is accepted. This process converts the cryptocurrency to fiat before it reaches the recipient’s account and this is how the digital asset can be used to pay for everyday products both online and in-store.
Bakkt will use Google Cloud as their preferred cloud service provider to deliver all services to leading US retailers and distributors. In addition, Bakkt will use Analytics as an option to redeem loyalties. With them, corporate partners can identify important consumer behavior patterns. Bakkt CEO Gavin Michael sees the new partnership as representative of the company’s success:
“This partnership is a testament to Bakkt’s strong position in the digital asset market to enable consumers to enjoy their digital assets in real time, safely and reliably. Additionally, partnering with Google Cloud will allow us to continue to build a world-class innovation platform that is sure to scale to meet the needs of millions of users. “
The new partnership is one of Bakkt’s many efforts to expand crypto use cases across the U.S., and the company has also partnered with Quiznos to launch a trial of BTC payments in Denver stores. The organization teamed up with Starbucks after the Bitcoin app launched, but since then Starbucks customers have been able to top up the card using the app. Google Cloud has provided support, as has the company partnered with Dapper Labs to scale their blockchain.
Digital Asset Marketplace Bakkt is offering BTC payments, as announced in a new partnership with restaurant chain Quiznos to open the first physical place where customers can pay for groceries. Starting in mid-August, diners will be able to pay with crypto at select Quiznos restaurants in the Denver area, including high-traffic locations like Denver International Airport. Bakkt has announced a partnership for its first physical location pilot.
