Recently, the security team SlowMist said that the Discord of the Move ecosystem NFT AMM project Mobius was hacked and a phishing link was released. It is presently aiding the project in its investigation and has verified that this is a hacking assault by Inferno Drainer.

Scam Sniffer reported that the malicious software vendor Inferno Drainer is related to thousands of frauds resulting in the theft of millions of dollars.

Inferno Drainer is said to have taken over $5.9 million from 4,888 victims.

According to Scam Sniffer, the phishing service has built at least 689 bogus websites since March 27, 2023. The majority of the phishing sites went up around May 14, 2023, with experts detecting an increase in site-building activity around that time.

The malicious websites developed using Inferno Drainer target 229 prominent companies, including Pepe, Bob, MetaMask, OpenSea, Collab.Land, LayerZero Labs, and others.

The victim with the most losses is this wallet, which contained over $400,000 in stolen valuables. He sought to bargain with the scammer, promising to give them 50% of the stolen stuff.

The security firm uncovered the service after witnessing an Inferno Drainer member marketing the service on Telegram by providing a screenshot of a $103,000 heist to demonstrate their skills.

Nevertheless, because of strong demand, the firm will only provide phishing sites to “worthy customers” or those who have shown their capacity to produce a large amount of money.
