Mastercard Attracts Music Enthusiasts To Web3 Through New Program

Mastercard unveiled its new Mastercard Artist Accelerator program on April 13. The one-of-a-kind initiative will equip five rising musical artists from across the globe with the tools and skills they need to use Web3 technology to reinvent their creative processes and advance their careers in the digital economy.

The limited edition Mastercard Music Pass NFT is the key to unlocking the program, which is a Web3 platform that offers free access to instructional resources, innovative artificial intelligence capabilities via partnerships, and valuable experiences that boost music artists’ creativity.

At the end of the month, music and Web3 aficionados will be able to get free limited-edition Mastercard Music Pass NFTs. The program, developed in collaboration with blockchain developer Polygon, aims to use Web3 technology to educate and involve more people in the digital revolution of the music industry.

Raja Rajamannar, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer and President, Healthcare Business of the company, stated:

“As a company, we hope to help people and partners around the world better understand and trust how blockchain and digital assets are used – and how our technology can support the ecosystem. We also believe that Web3 can be a powerful tool in connecting people and building communities around shared universal passions.”

Up-and-coming Emily Vu, a Vietnamese American singer, joins four other musicians from around the world for the Mastercard Artist Accelerator: Cocoa Sarai, a Brooklyn-based hip-hop artist; LeriQ, a Nigerian R&B/Afrobeats record producer and songwriter; Manu Manzo, a Venezuelan Latin pop artist; and Young Athena, a London-based R&B soul singer, and BRIT School alumna.

The participating musicians came from a variety of genres and backgrounds and were picked for their distinct narrative, sound, and inclusive approach.

Mastercard’s announcement comes less than two months after both it and Visa declared a halt on all new crypto and blockchain agreements. Any new launches, according to financial service providers, will be postponed until market circumstances improve and a clearer, more established regulatory framework is in place.

In June of the previous year, the firm issued its debut album, “Priceless,” via an innovative partnership aimed at assisting and guiding young musicians.

The Mastercard Artist Accelerator scheme’s purpose is to provide young artists with the skills and resources they need to succeed in today’s technology-driven environment. Mastercard will use its many years of experience in the music industry as well as its expertise in developing powerful digital networks to make this happen.
