One of the highlights of the month was the launch of the Valentine (SECP) upgrade on Feb. 14. This upgrade, with a Valentine’s Day theme, went live on the mainnet and was designed to celebrate “the love of DApps.”

In addition to this upgrade, IOG began working on facilitating the formation and bootstrapping of ADA working groups. These groups will enable community members to mobilize and collaborate on decision-making and implementing solutions. This move aims to strengthen the community’s involvement in the development of Cardano.

Another major milestone achieved by IOG in February was the launch of the public testnet for the EVM sidechain proof of concept on Feb. 7. This launch allows developers to deploy smart contracts and dApps, connect wallets, and test token transfers between test environments.

To further engage with the community, IOG released a blog post by Christian Badertscher, one of the coauthors of the study “Ouroboros Genesis: Composable Proof-of-Stake Blockchains with Dynamic Availability,” in response to community interest.

The fourth Plutus Pioneer, which took place on Feb. 20, was also a significant event. This program offered additional features and content, as well as a simpler development setup, and was unveiled by the IOG Academy. Plutus Pioneer is a program that aims to help developers learn how to build on Cardano’s smart contract platform, Plutus.

The team behind Cardano’s lightweight wallet, Lace, hosted a Twitter space with Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson and other respected community members in February. The Twitter space was an opportunity for community members to engage with ADA leaders and ask questions about the project.

February was a productive month for IOG and the Cardano community, with many significant milestones achieved, and engagement with the community strengthened.
