Woori Bank Will Launch 3D Metaverse Banking Service For Small Businesses

Woori is reportedly planning to provide its employees with 3D virtual training services in the metaverse.
Businesses may provide rich 3D experiences like gaming, commerce, education, and virtual events thanks to the metaverse. However, more organizations providing common services, such as banking, are increasingly pouring in to participate in the digital economy.
Through the metaverse platform “Moim,” a local startup Grid Inc., the bank will offer two services—one for communication with small company owners and the other for the education and training of its staff. “Moim” is a Korean word that denotes a meeting of people with a purpose.
The service will be supported via PC and mobile devices and will operate from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. It is reported that the metaverse banking service is an upgraded version of “Woori Metabranch.” A Woori Bank official stated:
“We plan to officially launch the metaverse service in the first half of this year by reflecting user feedback. We will provide various services so that customers can experience through various mediums such as XR (extended reality) devices.”
The bank stated that employees could receive training and lectures online from invited experts, which complemented the shortcomings of both in-person and contactless instruction.
Through a cyber training center, the corporation is enhancing the digital capabilities of its employees as part of the training program.
In early 2022, Woori became South Korea’s first commercial bank to start accepting driver’s licenses using blockchain technology as an official form of authentication.
