Ankr Hacker Exchanged Stolen Money For 5,500 BNB And 5.34M USDC, Equivalent To About $7M
Although the Ankr Staking platform has claimed their assets are safe and they are working to stop the transactions, the data shows that hackers were able to make around $7 million after the hack.
As updated in an earlier Coincu News article, this morning Ankr’s staking platform recorded a hack that resulted in 10 trillion aBNBc being minted. Immediately after receiving the information, the staking platform announced that it has detected it in time and is working to stop the transactions, so Ankr’s assets are not affected.
However, in the latest announcement by crypto security company Certik, the Ankr vulnerability exploiter with address 0xf3a465 exchanged 10 trillion aBNB tokens for 5,500 BNB and 5.34 million USDC (a total of about $7 million). The developer address still holds about 60 trillion aBNB and about 100 BNB.
So far, 900 BNB has been sent to Tornado Cash, 5.34 million USDC has been sent to Bridges, 3.7 million USDC has been sent to Celer Network’s cBridge and 1.64 million USDC has been sent to addresses starts with 0xd1C5.
Previously, from the analyzed data that in the Ankr theft incident, the aBNBc token contract had an infinite minting vulnerability and hackers could use this vulnerability to bypass caller verification to get discretionary casting.
