The cryptocurrency industry is perplexed by a recent tweet from Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum.

“Please recognize the fact that my elite social connections to people who are early to know things make me cool, and please help me validate my self-image of coolness,” the Canadian programmer added.

Buterin’s covert caution follows a gloomy tweet from well-known VC Paul Graham, who claimed that the Bitcoin economy was set to encounter “a systemic danger” based on information he had learned from a reliable source.
