Adidas Introduces The First Wearable NFT Collection
Adidas Originals announced a limited line of blockchain-based virtual wearables known as NFTs today. As Adidas escalates its drive toward its metaverse plan, the collection symbolizes the sportswear company’s first collection of NFT wearables termed “Virtual Gear.”
The 16-piece collection may be found in the wallets of holders of its capsule collection, which was released in May and airdropped to Into The Metaverse (ITM) NFT holders who claimed Phase 2.
Holders of the Adidas Originals: Capsule NFT Collection can now find out which of the 16 unique pieces they have when they choose to reveal and replace their Capsule NFT. This implies they must agree to ‘burn’ the Capsule NFT they now own in order to generate one of the 16 new digital wearable NFTs at random.
Every item of virtual gear is compatible with other metaverse environments and is designed to be worn by virtual avatars and NFT profile images.
Some elements in the collection pay homage to famous components of adidas Originals’ DNA, such as the “NEOBONE,” which is inspired by the rubberised sole pattern of the timeless Superstar silhouette. Pieces titled “C2172“, “SPACE CRYSTAL“, “WALLRUNNER“, and “P.F.D – Personal Flotation Device” are futuristic, metaverse-inspired designs.
The collection also features three limited edition creator-led wearables, each representing Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Gmoney, and Punks Comics, as part of the brand’s ongoing relationship with the brand’s initial Web3 partners who partnered with Adidas on the ITM initiative.
