Since the Argentine central bank in May forbade two banks from granting their customers access to cryptocurrencies, the company is the first financial player to start cryptocurrency trading in Argentina.

SoftBank and Tencent affiliates jointly led a $350 million Series D investment round for Ualá in August. The investment resulted in a $2.45 billion post-money valuation for the company.
