The agreement comes only one week after Chain announced a similar deal with the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL).

Chain did not define the sort of Web3 activations involved in the agreement, its duration, or the financial specifics surrounding it.

The blockchain merges Web2 brands and properties with Web3 technologies, most recently gaining buzz through its non-fungible token (NFT) tie-up with jewelry brand Tiffany and NFT blue chip CryptoPunks that netted $12 million in sales volume.

“On behalf of the team at Chain, I couldn’t be more excited to work with the Miami Heat as their exclusive Web3 and Blockchain Infrastructure Partner. This partnership is an incredible opportunity for Chain, and we look forward to engaging with the South Florida community.”

The agreement, which will make Chain the Miami Heat’s exclusive Web3 and blockchain infrastructure partner, is the team’s second large crypto sponsorship, following their $135 million stadium naming rights pact with crypto exchange FTX in March 2021.
