According to a press release, Sachin Tendulkar, dubbed the “God of Cricket” and one of India’s most recognized athletes, has made his first entrance into the realm of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) by working with digital collectibles platform Rario.
Tendulkar will be a strategic investor in Rario, a cricket-focused NFT platform. Iconic moments from Tendulkar’s life and career, in the form of official NFTs, will now be available exclusively on Rario.com.
Sachin Tendulkar stated:
“It is exciting to see NFT technology bringing fans closer to sports, giving them an opportunity to treasure their favourite moments.
The team at Rario was committed to building a cricket community using technology in a responsible way. I am therefore happy to partner with the team, to launch my digital collectibles exclusively on the Rario platform.”
Rario has agreements with various cricket boards, important events, and a list of over 900 international cricketers. Rario collaborates with Polygon Studios and Animoca. According to the release, the platform has sold over 150,000 NFTs since 2021.
Sachin Tendulkar is Rario’s most prized acquisition after exclusive deals with Aaron Finch, Faf du Plessis, Rishabh Pant, Virender Sehwag, and Zaheer Khan.
Former Indian cricket captain and all-time leading run-scorer played for an incredible 24 years and is recognized as one of the finest batsmen in the game’s history.
