Twitter Revealed Elon Musk Is Under Investigation By The Federal Government
Elon Musk is under scrutiny for his acquisition attempt, according to a filing filed by Twitter’s legal team. It’s not clear whether federal authorities are investigating Musk or what documents were sought, but the request was filed after Musk agreed to buy the company.
According to Bloomberg, Authorities are said to be investigating Elon Musk over his Twitter acquisition attempt.
Twitter said it had asked for months that Musk’s attorneys provide their contact information with federal authorities but it failed to do so, and asked a Delaware judge to order the lawyers to provide document.
“Elon Musk is presently under investigation by federal authorities for his conduct in connection with the acquisition of Twitter,”
The legal team said in an October 6 filing
Twitter’s lawyers requested that Musk’s team provide the same documents because they “bear upon key issues in this litigation“.
Elon Musk first agreed to buy the social media platform in April for $44 billion then he tried to refuse to make the deal citing concerns about fake accounts, sparking fierce legal dispute between the two parties.
However, the billionaire changed his mind and accepted his original bid last week, prompting controversy over the final form of the sale. McCormick last week continued to take legal action until October 28 to give both sides a chance to come to a settlement.
