According to The Block, Jonathan Cheesman, FTX’s head of over-the-counter and institutional sales, has left the firm.

Cheesman, who formerly worked at HSBC, Goldman Sachs, and Barclays, joined the exchange in May 2021 and was charged with bringing traditional financial institutions into crypto markets. He began trading cryptocurrency in 2017, following a previous relationship with crypto investment firm Distributed Global.

Cheesman was also the head of Access, FTX’s investment advisory services division. He put up an FTX-related Twitter account, but it hasn’t been active since August.

According to the exchange, it will not hire a successor for Cheesman since it has a full staff in place to fulfill the function.

According to one of the two sources, Cheesman has returned to his own business, JCi Advisory Ltd, which he founded last year before joining the exchange. According to the source, FTX is among the consultancy firm’s clients.
