Circle has announced the upcoming launch of a cross-chain transfer protocol to support USDC interoperability. The USDC issuer also said it intends to offer USDC on Arbitrum, Cosmos, NEAR, Optimism, and Polkadot.
September 28, 2022, at Converge22, Circle Internet Financial, a global digital financial technology company and issuer of USD Coin (USDC) and Euro Coin (EUROC), announced its intention to offer USDC adds five blockchain ecosystems including – Arbitrum, Cosmos, NEAR, Optimism, and Polkadot.
By the end of 2022, USDC is intended to be available on Arbitrum One, NEAR, Optimism, and Polkadot. USDC on Cosmos is slated to launch in early 2023.
Cryptocurrency payment company and USDC issuer is launching a cross-chain remittance protocol to support USDC interoperability. Developers can begin scoping their future integrations with USDC and testing with Circle APIs via Circle’s documentation portal.
“The multi-chain expansion is intended to increase USDC’s native availability from eight ecosystems to thirteen, and enables blockchain developers building on USDC and their users to experience greater liquidity and interoperability within the crypto economy,(…). Previously, cryptocurrency payment company supported USDC natively on Algorand, Avalanche, Ethereum, Flow, Hedera, Solana, Stellar, and TRON.
