Bored Ape Yacht Club Accused By Anonymous Hack Group Of Promoting Sensitive Topics

Bored Ape Yacht Club is still not out of trouble when recently, the notorious hacking group Anonymous also accused the project of promoting Nazism, racism, simulation and pedophilia. Previously, the project developer has also denied similar allegations.

On September 26, the online hacker collective Anonymous published a video criticizing Yuga Labs, a provider of blockchain technology, and Bored Ape Yacht Club, its NFT-based social club (BAYC).

Yuga Lab is accused by Anonymous of using esoteric symbolism in BAYC’s artwork, which the group claims demonstrates the company’s support for various problematic issues like Nazism, racism, simianization, and pedophilia.

“Anonymous is certain that the BAYC collection and the Yuga labs brand are infected with not one or two — but with dozens of examples of esoteric symbolism and dog whistles reflecting Nazism, Racism, Siminization, and Pedophilic support.”

The group urged people not to dismiss its claims as mere “conspiracy theory“, claiming that doing so would show them to be either “simply ignorant,” “not versed,” or, worse yet, to have a financial conflict of interest.

Anonymous suggested that holders of these artworks are also victims of Bored Ape Yacht Club and Yuga Labs’s trolling, and urged owners not to stay silent out of a desire to protect their financial interests.

All celebrities like Andreessen Horowitz, Mark Cuban, Dez Bryant, Tom Brady, Ben Simmons, Neymar Junior, Kevin Hart, Drake Bell, Shaquille O’Neal and big brands like Lion Tree, Adidas, Tiffany & Co were called.

Before, on June 25, the founders of Bored Ape Yacht Club, represented by Gordon Goner, published a blog post refuting the allegations. In the article, Gordon Goner stated that the four founders of BAYC had no reason to support fascism with Jewish, Turkish, Pakistani, and Cuban backgrounds. Goner also alleges it’s just a conspiracy to smear the project to sell NFT.

Yuga Labs also said that in order to prevent infringement of intellectual property rights and smear the project, they have filed a lawsuit against related parties but the specific content is unknown.
