Nova Labs Partnered With T-Mobile To Launch First Crypto 5G Network
Nova Labs has announced a new agreement with T-Mobile in order to cover dead zones on the Helium decentralized 5G network, which will be operational in August 2022.
This collaboration comes as Nova Labs, the firm behind the Helium blockchain, seeks to expand coverage for users of the world’s first crypto mobile network by utilizing T-5G Mobile’s footprint in the United States, according to a press release.
Users will be able to connect to Helium’s peer-to-peer Helium Mobile network as well as T-5G Mobile’s network. Subscribers to this service can earn MOBILE cryptocurrency in exchange for assisting Nova Labs in identifying dead areas in Helium’s network. Nova Labs CEO Amir Haleem said:
“Nova Labs is committed to building out a decentralized network. Our new agreement with T-Mobile gives our subscribers nationwide 5G coverage and enables us to offer mobile products and services that use both networks.”
According to Nova Labs, a beta version of the service will be available in the first quarter of 2023.
The Helium Network is a decentralized network of wireless hotspots designed to provide an alternative to hard-wired internet or mobile data service. There are currently 900,000 hotspots around the world. Recently, the project is facing difficulties when facing many doubts from the community, the price of HNT has also plummeted without stopping.
