The Cosmos ecosystem is now the main focus of crypto research company Delphi Digital’s research and development (R&D) protocol arm Delphi Labs.
Delphi Digital, independent research, and investment company that was established in 2018 and opened its Labs division in 2021, offers an institutional-grade analysis of the market for digital assets.
The protocol R&D branch of Delphi Digital, Delphi Labs, had previously been focused on researching and developing protocols on Terra but was obliged to look into alternative ecosystems after its collapse in May. Delphi Labs has a crew of about 50 aimed at incubating “Web3 primitives.”
According to a report released by Delphi Digital on Thursday, the company’s team examined a variety of blockchain ecosystems to determine which was best for its requirements, particularly in connection to decentralized finance (DeFi) but settled on the Cosmos ecosystem in the end.
Delphi Labs chose Cosmos as the ecosystem to concentrate its research and development efforts on because it is “an ecosystem of interoperable blockchains.” Despite the fact that the ecosystem is rather sparse in comparison to rivals like Ethereum, it highlighted Cosmos’ capacity to profit from an expanding number of app chains and cross-chain interoperability as important strengths.
The greatest problem of the blockchain, according to Delphi Digital, is the speed and cost of using the Ethereum foundation layer, which leads to a subpar user experience despite Ethereum hosting the bulk of decentralized apps (dApps).
The paper indicated that rollups enable Ethereum to solve this issue, but important challenges include interoperability between chains and outages or latency problems.
A few other blockchains are Polygon, Solana, Polkadot, and Near. were compared in the research, and Cosmos received the best overall rating.
