y00ts is a collection of 15,000 yeti-like PFP avatars made by the DeGods founding team and is one of the most popular NFT projects on Solana. The project received submissions from a number of high-profile individuals, including NFT influencers and soccer great Wayne Rooney.
At the time of writing, y00ts has exceeded 240,000 SOL in trading volume (about $7.6 million) on OpenSea. The collection is now topping off the charts with a floor price of 155 SOL.
In addition, Dust Labs, the Web3 startup tied to y00ts and DeGods NFTs, has raised $7 million in seed round funding. The announcement came shortly after the buzzy y00ts NFT mint went live.
Several notable investors took part in the round. Chapter One, Foundation Capital, Magic Eden, Metaplex, Jump, FTX Ventures, and Solana Ventures are among them. The money was split 50/50 between the company’s shares and its DUST token, the DeGods NFT project’s native currency.
The firm, founded by the DeGods NFT collective, supplies NFT tooling to Solana and Ethereum projects. Its initial product is a whitelisting tool for “scholarships,” which it demonstrated during the y00ts mint.
The DeGods team has had a frantic week, delaying the release of its buzzy y00ts project due to a last-minute “blocking bug.” Dust Labs has announced that it will do an AMA (ask me anything) on Thursday to provide further details.
