Mysten Labs The Company Behind The Sui Blockchain Is Hacked On Discord

According to a statement from Mysten Labs on Saturday, the firm’s Discord server has been compromised. Mysten Labs is the startup behind the Sui blockchain.

It adds that the team is attempting to fix the issue while cautioning users not to follow any links put on the server in the eight hours prior to its Twitter tweet.

Hackers may have uploaded a link to a purported airdrop on the server’s announcement channel, according to an unsubstantiated screenshot that was circulated on Twitter.

Mysten Labs has not released any new information

Sui blockchain, a permissionless proof-of-stake blockchain, was introduced in March as Mysten Labs’ first offering.

Four former developers from Meta’s crypto unit Novi, Evan Cheng, Sam Blackshear, Adeniyi Abiodun, and George Danezis, founded Mysten Labs, a web3 infrastructure firm. They have previously worked on the Move programming language and the Diem blockchain.

The startup is backed by prominent investors such as Coinbase Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz. It raised $36 million in December.
