ENS Domain Name Change Service Launched On Coinbase

Users were able to change the ENS domain in any way they wanted for their Coinbase trading account.

The integration of the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain name service on Coinbase has officially gone live, changing the wallet username to the domain name on the Coinbase ID. Users can change their ENS name once a year, as long as it complies with the exchange’s Subdomain Terms, which has yet to be announced by the exchange.

Existing Coinbase usernames are also built on top of the Coinbase Domain Name System (CDS) ENS infrastructure with the extension “cb.id” at the end of the username. After changing via ENS, the username will have the extension “.eth” .

Based on Coinbase’s announcement, Ethereum Name Service can be used to send, receive, and trade tokens by casual and professional users. On the other hand, wallet accounts can only send and receive using their ENS. Wallet transactions will be available in the future.

Despite the market downturn, the ethereum domain name still retains a certain attraction to the community, big brands like Nike still spend large amounts of money to be able to own a domain name for themselves. Special domain names are still sold at unbelievable prices.

For that reason, Coinbase also seems to be using Ethereum Name Service as a “springboard” to attract more customers to the exchange, increase interaction and use products right on the platform to help Coinbase begin to strengthen re-establishing its business position after a series of days of deep “crisis”, including in legal aspects since the beginning of 2022.
