The number of Solana wallets affected by the hack has reached more than 8,000, showing no signs of stopping. There is no exact damage estimate, but it is expected to be a very large number. In addition to the Phantom wallet, the Trust and Slope wallets were also affected in this hack.
Over 8000 Solana wallets report impact
As mentioned in a Coincu News article, On the morning of August 3, the crypto community on Twitter is passing many reports that the Solana network had a major security hole. It has been discovered that many crypto wallets have been massively withdrawn, with a value of up to several million USD.
According to the data obtained currently over 8,000 Solana wallets reported by SlowMist with $580 million stolen, this number shows no sign of stopping.
Fortunately, the total stolen assets included an illiquid Shitcoins, worth $570 million on Solscan. Therefore, the actual amount of money that was temporarily stolen was less than $10 million.
In addition to the Phantom wallet, the Trust and Slope wallets were also affected in this hack. Solana’s team is still meeting to find out the cause, but currently no specific conclusions have been announced.
