Muse Announces Their Upcoming Album On Polygon-Based NFT Platform Serenade

Serenade – The eighth studio album by the venerable rock group Muse, “Will of the People,” will be made available as an NFT on August 26 and is anticipated to be the first song to chart in both the UK and Australia.

The 2014-formed band Muse has won a plethora of honors, including the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2011 and 2016; the NME Award for Best British Band in 2007, 2010, and 2011, the MTV Europe Music Award for Best World Stage Performance in 2019; and a plethora of other accolades.

Muse Serenade to use layer-2 solution Polygon

According to the corporate website, Serenade mints NFTs using the layer-2 solution Polygon. Ethereum’s current Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism is said to be “far less efficient” than Polygon’s Proof-of-Stake (PoS) approach.

The ability to purchase NFTs on Serenade using debit and credit cards without first creating a cryptocurrency wallet is one of the platform’s unique features. Users can also use their already-established Bitcoin or Ethereum wallets that are connected to Coinbase. According to The Guardian, there will be a global restriction of 1,000 copies available for the upcoming NFT release from Muse in both an NFT and a limited-edition format.

For £20 (about $24.50), fans can purchase high-resolution FLAC downloads of the album carrying the digital signatures of Muse members. A permanent listing of all 1,000 buyers’ names will also be included in the connected roster of buyers. Martin Talbot, CEO of the OCC, stated that the publication of the Muse album did not call for a change to the OCC’s chart-eligibility rules because Serenade had already been granted approval as a chart-return digital retailer, making it the first NFT record to do so.
