Chief Developer Of XRPL Disapproves Of Ecosystem’s Own Credit Cards In Main Wallet Solution

XRPL – The project’s development team is not interested in such an invention, despite claims that it will soon appear in the Xumm Wallet, the primary wallet of the XRP ecosystem.

According to senior developer Wietse Wind, XRP Labs has no intentions to produce Xumm Wallet debit and credit cards because they are ineffective and work on the premise that if the customer doesn’t pay, someone else will.

Additionally, Wind stated that while choosing not to do so would result in a more complicated method of developing XRPL, doing so would not serve the ecosystem’s or the developer’s personal goals.

XRPL seeks to build a bridge between the fiat and digital worlds

A bridge between the fiat and digital realms of finance will still be built by XRPL even though it has abandoned such a development route. Instead, Wind said, the ecosystem development team is diligently developing on- and off-ramp solutions that will enable immediate conversions of fiat currency to XRP and back.

The project team wants to first roll out a full on-ramp/off-ramp solution to all EU nations before moving to the Asian continent. Lead developer XRPL Labs also said that Xumm Pro Beta users from the Netherlands would be able to use this solution before the end of the year.

However, not all conventional approaches encounter such a stern rejection of the XRPL. For instance, Xumm Wallet received a significant change in the area of user authorization in the beginning of June. The implementation made it feasible to utilize an XRPL account to authorize Xumm Wallet, which is analogous to the common web2 standard where a user approves a platform using a Google or Facebook identity.
