Axie Infinity Hosts World Championship With $1 Million AXS Prize
In celebration of the upcoming AxieCon Conference next September, Play-to-Earn Axie Infinity will host a World Championship tournament with a prize pool of $1 million AXS.
On July 1, Axie Infinity announced that it had started selling tickets for AxieCon, the first-ever P2E gaming conference, held in Barcelona (Spain) from September 7 until September 10, 2022.
Game developer Sky Mavis announced AxieCoin is a place where Axie Infinity game lovers can gather and share the project with the mission, vision, and development roadmap in the near future.
Axie Infinity said it will hold the Axie Infinity World Championship on the occasion of AxieCon, including a total of 3 tournaments with a total prize pool of $1 million AXS tokens.
It can be seen that with AxieCon, Axie Infinity is aiming to build a clearer community, as well as promote the esports aspect of the game after more than half a year of changing the game’s bonus mechanism when removing the SLP coin.
Although the number of players has decreased significantly, Axie believes that those who remain with the project are the real players and will help Axie Infinity realize the upcoming roadmap in the future.
Recently, Axie has implemented the Land staking feature, a stepping stone for players to generate passive income from NFT Land while waiting for the next version of the game. And yet, Sky Mavis is also promoting the Builder Program, a franchise so other developers can create derivative games using Axie’s images, with 12 games having announced their ideas and original images.
