Gaming DAO Merit Circle, YGG ‘Terminate Relationship’
Members of Merit Circle voted to terminate their relationship with Yield Guild Games (YGG), buying out the guild’s 175,000 USDC ($175,000) investment in the play-to-earn gaming decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) for 1.75 million USDC. “Collaboratively, Merit Circle Ltd and Yield Guild Games came to an agreement,” YGG wrote in a Medium post. “The proposed solution terminates the formal relationship between the Merit Circle DAO and Yield Guild Games. This space would not be where it is today without Yield Guild Games, and not without the Merit Circle DAO.”
In May, the two play-to-earn scholarship giants were caught in a governance strife as members of the Merit Circle DAO said YGG was not adding enough value as an investor and proposed “refunding” the investment. For its part, YGG said the investment, which closed last October, never required anything more than a capital infusion.

Immutable launches $500M fund to boost web3 gaming adoption
Immutable, an Australia-based web3 gaming firm, launched an inaugural $500 million developer and venture investment fund, Robbie Ferguson, president and co-founder of Immutable, exclusively told TechCrunch. The capital will be used to fund projects building web3 games and NFT-focused companies on its layer-2 Ethereum-focused platform, Immutable X.
Immutable’s main goal is to enable the next generation of web3 gaming at scale, Ferguson said. Gaming developers and IP holders already building on its platform include GameStop, TikTok, OpenSea and Illuvium, to name a few.
“We see gaming being one of the biggest opportunities in web3 to have ever existed,” he said. “The total addressable market is going to be enormous and much bigger than what gaming is today — a $100 billion industry for in-game items alone.”

Solana-built move-to-earn protocol Walken to launch on Bybit June 20th
Walken Gamifies simple daily activities, such as walking and running, to promote a healthy lifestyle and rewards users for being physically active on a daily basis. In the Walken ecosystem, it pays to maintain a fit lifestyle where steps and exercises recorded on your Apple HealthKit or Android Health-enabled smart watches and devices can be converted into real value.
How it works:
- Each Walken user has a character called CAThlete, with steps converted into GEMs, the in-game currency. One thousand steps equal one GEM, which is used to improve a CAThlete’s speed, strength, and stamina.
- The launch of Walken’s in-game token WLKN on Bybit Launchpad 2.0 provides users with the opportunity to earn cryptocurrency through the allocation.
- In the game, WLKN is gained in competitions and can be used to upgrade a CAThlete’s level or equip them with items from the Marketplace for extra stats points and boost their chance to win more competitions.

Metamon team to use transaction fees to buy back metamons
The founder team is taking measures to restrict the supply of Metamon:
- Using transaction fees within the Metamon game to buyback Metamons on the marketplace.
- Transaction fees in Metamon World are denominated in u-RACA, which has an exchange rate of 1:1 with RACA tokens through deposits. However, since it is not currently possible to withdraw u-RACA, the Dev team would therefore need to borrow RACA for the buybacks.
- The borrowed RACA will be covered with u-RACA when the withdrawal function comes online shortly.
